The Namib Desert, which runs along the coastal region of Namibia, is the world’s oldest desert, as it has been an arid environment for as long as 55 million years.

Those are vast, amazingly sandy, graveled plains with rugged mountains, which make this land amazing but, at the same time, hostile. Namib is home to some of the tallest sand dunes in the world, which appear orange and red in the morning and evening light set against the backdrop of a deep blue sky.

Sossusvlei is one of the most visited places in the Namib Desert, which features huge sand dunes and a large salt and clay pan. Large Dune 45 and Big Daddy reach a height of over 300 meters. It requires a lot of energy and strength to climb the steep slopes of these dunes, but a beautiful view is obtained at the top of the dune where you can look down and see the empty sand desert in front of you with as far as the eyes can see dunes.

Closely to Deadvlei, a breathtaking scene of the white clay pan together with dead camel thorn trees that are hundreds or years old and red dunes is situated. Much of the desert falls within the Namib-Naukluft National Park area, where you would also find other, adapted species of wildlife such as the oryx, the springbok, and even the rare desert elephant.

However, it is not only rich in natural beauty, for it has some history as well as mystery attached to it. Skeleton Coast is the part of Namibia where the hot Namib Desert starts from the Atlantic Ocean; it is one of the most dangerous and mysterious places considering the fact that it has the number of shipwrecks in the sea line, which gives a spooky look to the region.

Sheer cliffs and other formations cover the desertcountry and continue to feature numerous ancient paintings, petroglyphs, and archeological relics.

through the activities of the region’s initial settlers into the lives of this region’s inhabitants. Namib Desert tourist activities are an incredibly interesting experience as it combines such things as a beautiful view of the scenicексуality of Namibia and unusual natural conditions, and, in addition, stories that remain unsolved to this day.
