The World Health Organization (OMS) has issued an alarm about the use of tobacco as in addition to killing more than eight million people a year it also causes 600 million trees to be cut down for cultivation
This is one of the things that has come back as the world celebrates the International Smoking Day so much that smoking continues to be like an epidemic because it kills many and can be avoided
According to the OMS May 31 when this day is celebrated is an important time to remember that measures should be taken to prevent smoking
What the WHO says is how tobacco is still used by children rather than adults. 37 million between the ages of 13 and 15 now smoke with the majority of children using electronic cigarettes
The oms also points out that in celebrating this day in 2024 care should be taken to give young people and children time to be free and provide information because it is the best way to know what they need and what is happening to them and help smokers to quit
In terms of annual deforestation reports by institutions such as the World Wildlife Fund show that 5% of forests are cut down cut down for the benefit of growing tobacco and other crops on 200 thousand hectares are replaced by tobacco every year
These institutions show that in order to protect human health and protect the environment there is a need for the cooperation of institutions in countries and to establish sustainable programs to prevent the use of tobacco and its crops
