Some animals really know how to take it easy. Here are ten of the laziest animals you’ll find:
Sloths: These guys are famous for moving super slowly and can sleep up to 20 hours a day. They basically invented laziness.
Koalas: Koalas can sleep anywhere from 18 to 22 hours a day. They need a lot of rest to digest their eucalyptus leaf diet.
Opossums: Besides pretending to be dead when scared, opossums spend up to 18 hours a day snoozing.
Lions: As top predators, lions have the luxury of resting up to 20 hours a day, saving their energy for the hunt.
Giant Pandas: These adorable bamboo munchers sleep and rest for about 10 to 16 hours each day.
Lemurs: Especially in the dry season, lemurs can sleep up to 16 hours a day in Madagascar.
Nurse Sharks: You’ll often find these sharks chilling on the sea floor, living a relaxed and sluggish life.
Hippopotamuses: To keep cool and avoid sunburn, hippos spend a lot of their day lounging in the water.
Pythons: After a big meal, pythons can lie around without moving for weeks. Talk about taking it easy!
Cats: Our furry feline friends can sleep between 12 to 16 hours a day, often in many short naps throughout the day.
