Climate Change to Boost Global Rainbow Rate

Climate change, especially with regard to weather patterns over the demographic mapping of the world, has caused a number of changes in the environment, some of which are rather peculiar.

One such phenomenon is the possibility of recording the growth of the frequency of the rainbow’s appearance during a special kind of weather. Rainbows penetrate when the light of the sun familiarizes with different water droplets and improvises the light spectrum in the sky.

For this magical display to occur, specific conditions are necessary: water and heat, such as from the sun in the morning after a rainy night.

With climate change, the incidences as well as the extremities of some forms of weather, particularly rainfall, are changing. Many areas are experiencing alterations in the precipitation regime, resulting in more cases of showers and storms and creating many instances in which rainbows can be observed.

When the thermometers are going up and temperatures are getting warmer, the atmosphere is capable of containing more water, resulting in more humidity and, therefore, more rainbows.

Furthermore, climate change has also affected the season and area of rainfall. For example, some regions may receive more rain in periods that are normally dominated by dryness, whereas others may have their wet periods shifted. These variations in rainfall increase the chances of rainbows, as points of sunshine are likely to follow a rainy episode in these areas.

Consequently, there is a higher chance of seeing rainbows due to the current increase in the frequency of hurricanes and typhoons, which are followed by clear skies and then intense rainfalls. As these weather systems move and dissipate, they often leave behind the perfect conditions for rainbows: high humidity and passing showers.

Although such changes may go hand in hand with more intense and frequent rainbows, it is essential to stress that the reasons for such changes are rather negative in terms of the Earth’s circumstances.

It increases the risks and changes some challenging factors, like the general increase in temperatures that causes sea levels to rise, heats up the temperatures, and affects ecosystems.
