Pitcairn Island is among the most remote populated places in the world, lying midway in the South Pacific Ocean.
It is the smallest of the British overseas territories and has a population of less than fifty people; it became famous for the home of the modern mutineers of HMS Bounty. The inhabitants of the island who are the direct descendants of the mutineers, are always very hospitable and warmly welcoming their guests, and often include them into their daily activities and invite to join them during meals.
