Among the walkways, bridges, towers, and districts of a vast steampunk metropolis rises the giant Clockwork City, an enormous structure whose workings are based on gears, wheels, and steam.
However, as we know, there is always a skeleton somewhere beneath the skin, and moving along the city’s shiny facade, it is possible to observe that the whole system is rather weak and starts to collapse when the main power supply—the city’s power core—damages. Without it, the whole city stands still, and its inhabitants will find themselves in the midst of anarchy.
‘There once was a young inventor, by the name of Evelyn, who has a knack for inventing creative but optimal devices, who was suddenly informed by a talking cat that the only way to save the city was to search for the Gear of Eternity—aa mythical part said to power the city forever’.
There are several rumors about the location of the gear. According to rumors, the location of the gear is in the deep underground of the city, in a complex of tunnels, old machinery, and failed projects.
From the various features of the game, it is observed that through the striking environment of Clockwork City, players come across rival inventors, rapacious industrialists, and a clandestine organization that seeks to dominate the city’s progress.
Throughout the game, work your way around mechanical creatures, namely the dangerous passages and complicated riddles that lead to the Gear of Eternity.
When getting more involved with the deeper layers of the city, Evelyn learns about the secret that has been in existence since the city was created—a plan to misuse the power of the Gear. As she gets nearer her target, she gets into deadly conflict with those who have the intention of preserving the gear as their instrument of power.
In the end, Evelyn faces a choice: either to revive the city and bring it back to prosperous life, or to eliminate the Gear of Eternity and liberate the city from the bonds of conservatism. The future of this city, Clockwork City, and its inhabitants depend on the decisions of the female protagonist.
