We used medical experts Gahama Ineza Tania from Burundi and Dr. Munyarugamba Protais from Rwanda, who explained exactly what this disease is and also gave advice to parents.
These experts say that in the mouth near the throat there is a small meat that is raised called “luette” when it swells and exceeds the size of the normal size, which causes the disease of the tongue.
Dr. Gahama Ineza Tania says that the swollen meat called “epiglotte” is thrown into the mouth behind the tongue.
The two doctors agree that these two parts are caused by microbes or viruses that have entered the mouth of a person.
Dr. Munyarugamba Protais says that cutting these areas for children and adults is not good; he gave an example by talking about ’epiglotte’. The epiglotte usually helps to close the respiratory tract so that what comes from the mouth does not go to the lungs, so when it is removed, there is some waste that goes to the lungs.
These [Bath and Tongue] diseases are characterized by swelling of the throat; swallowing is difficult even in young children to express and swallow.
Cutting these areas [luette and epiglotte] is not as good as these doctors confirm because it can cause “infections” and even cause the amputated person to speak in the nose or be paralyzed.
These medical experts ask parents to hurry to the doctor when their child shows symptoms of these diseases because they have the right medicine and it does not affect the people who receive it.
